Happy National Recruiter Day!

We kinda sorta love connecting people. Whether we’re matching talented job seekers with the perfect job or partnering with companies to help them scale, we love making those meaningful introductions! In honor of National Recruiter Day, we’re breaking down all things recruiting!

What is National Recruiter Day?

This unofficial national day originated from a 2017 LinkedIn post. CEO and founder of Find My Profession Mike Podesto dubbed May 30th “National Recruiter Day.” He encouraged people to share their own positive recruiter experiences.

The original of National Recruiter Day

“We actually created this day a couple of years ago after realizing there was no National Recruiter Day. Yet, there was “National Popcorn Day,” “National Vodka Day,” and every other random National Day,” Mike said.

“Having worked as a recruiter and spent a lot of time on LinkedIn, I feel very close with recruiters. There are lot of great ones out there that deserve recognition and appreciation. That is what National Recruiter Day is all about. Showing appreciation to a recruiter(s) that has made a difference in your life or simply provided a positive experience.”

What is a recruiter?

A recruiter is someone who matches job seekers (also referred to as “candidates”) with companies and jobs that fit their qualifications and career goals. We’re like the middleman (slash middlewoman?) between the employee and employer. Basically, we do all of the behind-the-scenes work to confirm the opportunity will be a good fit for both parties.

How do recruiters help candidates?

We have our candidates’ best interests in mind. From beginning to end, we are there to 1) get their resume looking spiffy 2) find them a job 3) prep them for their interview 4) cheer them on and support them throughout the whole process and 5) celebrate with them when they get the job! And we’re very big on personally contacting candidates through phone calls and video interviews. That’s right – less emails and more phone calls!

Does a candidate have to pay for a recruiter?

No! This is a common question candidates ask. Candidates don’t pay a penny to get matched with a position! Job seekers send us their resume (or we contact them directly), connect with them to understand their goals, and get to work with matching them with the perfect role.

What are the benefits of working with a recruiter?

How long did you spend searching Indeed, LinkedIn Jobs, or other job boards the last time you were looking for a job? Too long, right? Working with a recruiter can help save you time and frustration behind job searching.

In addition to getting to know your experience, strengths, and goals, we have direct lines of communication to the hiring managers so now more resume blackholes!

We talk, we listen, and we laugh. We work with you to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible! Our team works hard so you can spend less time looking for a job and focus on GETTING that job! Then, we celebrate. 🥳

Why should companies hire a recruiting firm?

Hiring a recruiting firm can help save companies time and money. We learn about the company culture, what types of projects the team is working on, management styles, and what an “ideal” hire looks like for them. During this process, we soak up as much information as we can to help companies find their next best employee. We personally vet candidates by sitting down and having a chat face-to-face (or screen-to-screen!) to make sure they’re a great fit for your company. Throughout this time, we stay in communication with both the company and the candidate to keep everyone updated on the progress of vetting, interviewing, and hiring. In short, we do a lot of work in the background so companies can sit back and relax!
